The  2014 SIFMA Annual Meeting  is right around the corner.

This event is truly a unique experience that  serves as a one-stop resource for members and industry and market participants to receive updates on critical issues, as well as connect with colleagues and counterparts from throughout the business. Our speaker lineup this year is exceptional, and will feature one-on-one question & answer sessions with Mary Jo White, Chair, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Michael R. Bloomberg, 108th Mayor of New York City and Founder, Bloomberg L.P.;  David M. Rubenstein, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, The Carlyle Group and Gregory J. For the first time, as part of the general program, we are offering two sessions that take a deeper-dive into particular areas of interest to our community.

The first, “Tapping the Capital Markets: the Corporate Client View,” will feature commercial company CFOs and Treasurers discussing how companies use the capital markets. The second, “Investing in a New Era: The View from the Buy-Side,” will feature senior buy-side executives who will explore the forces of change in the industry and what impact these changes will have on the capital markets and the broader economy. In addition we will again be offering compelling breakout sessions on key business and regulatory issues.

Kenneth E. Bentsen Jr. is SIFMA’s President & CEO, having previously served as Executive Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy. Mr. Bentsen served as a Member of the United States House of Representatives from Texas from 1995 to 2003, where he sat on the Financial Services and Budget Committees. He has also served as President of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), Managing Director of Public Strategies, Inc., and an investment banker specializing in municipal and mortgage finance.
