Course Description

Resilience, our ability to navigate change, loss, uncertainty and conflict well with minimal distress and disruption, rests on our capacity to choose wisely.  This capacity, to make the best choices under duress, is elevated with a mindful approach to difficult moments.  In our conversation we consider integrated research from the fields of Mind/Body Medicine, Positive Psychology and Appreciative Inquiry, fields which examine who we are at our best as individuals, teams and organizations. We'll explore mindfulness as a practice of pausing and removing obstacles to enable us to handle both inner and outer conflict.  From there we consider how we to bring mindful awareness to any one moment and transform that moment into one of opportunity; opportunity in which we not only address the stressor directly, but leverage that very conflict to become more rooted in our strengths and values, more clear about the road ahead and more of our better selves. In other words, better leaders.  Attendees will leave with experience practicing mindful pausing, identifying one's ideal self, and leveraging positive change in themselves and others in the most challenging moments.
