Mark S. Talerico, CPA, CFA

Mr. Talerico is a Managing Director with Guy Carpenter, LLC and leads their analytical initiatives for the Tampa, FL office. Mark brings a real world business perspective to the integration of advanced risk modeling capabilities to carriers with a large catastrophe risk exposure. These portfolio management activities include catastrophe modeling, risk analysis, capital modeling, M&A, rate adequacy, model sensitivity reviews and establishing risk selection criteria. Mark has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry with most of that time spent as Chief Risk Officer, Reinsurance Buyer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer for established primary carriers and 3 start-up operations – all with a focus on catastrophe risk management. Mark was SVP at RMS and managed their ERM initiative with Oliver Wyman in the early 2000’s. Mark earned an MBA with a concentration in Investment Analysis from The George Washington University and a BS in Accounting from Towson University. He also holds a CPA license and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
