Chief Executive Officer D.A. Davidson

Jim Kerr serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of D.A. Davidson Companies. He was named Chairman in 2018 and CEO in 2015. He previously served as President of the firm since 2012 following his earlier role as President of Wealth Management. He joined D.A. Davidson in 2005.

Jim has extensive experience in the securities industry, beginning in 1976 when he became an investment broker with Foster & Marshall. He joined the firm that was then called Dain Bosworth in 1982, was appointed manager of that firm’s Seattle office in 1986, and was later promoted to regional manager. He served as President of Ragen MacKenzie from 1999 until Wells Fargo purchased Ragen MacKenzie. He was then named regional manager of Private Client Services for Wells Fargo-Ragen MacKenzie.

Jim is a director of D.A. Davidson Companies and D.A. Davidson Trust Company, Davidson Fixed Income Management and Davidson Investment Advisors. Educated at the University of Oregon, Jim also has been elected to the boards of directors for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and the Association of Washington Business. He has been an active member of several SIFMA committees and has served on the board of directors for numerous nonprofit organizations in the Seattle area, including the Seattle Aquarium, Elderhealth Northwest, the Seattle Sports Commission and the Seattle Police Foundation.
