David Lefkowitz

David Lefkowitz is a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan based in New York. David is currently Global Head of Asset-Backed Securities (“ABS”) Origination. ABS Origination includes providing financing to clients backed by consumer and commercial receivables either directly from JP Morgan’s balance sheet or its bank sponsored commercial paper conduit or by placing asset backed bonds with investors. Asset classes include auto loans and leases, credit card receivables, student loans, marketplace loans as well as esoteric assets such as insurance premium finance and timeshare receivables. The ABS business in EMEA and Asia further includes financings backed by performing and nonperforming residential mortgage and real estate assets. In addition, David is responsible for the ABS Principal Finance and Max Recovery businesses which are based in New York. ABS Principal Finance is a business that seeks to purchase or finance consumer receivables and redistribute the risk through securitization. It has also included financing and securitization for the single family rental and related real estate businesses in the US, such as iBuyer. Max Recovery is a business that purchases and manages the administration of consumer insolvency paper in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. David started with Bear, Stearns in 2000 and was the head of Consumer ABS Origination and Principal Finance prior to the merger with J.P. Morgan.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, David was a Director in the Asset-Backed Securities Group at CIBC Oppenheimer where his responsibilities included management of balance sheet CLO’s, management of asset-backed commercial paper programs in the US and Europe and structuring of esoteric ABS including film slate and mutual fund fee securitizations. David started his career as an Auditor with PriceWaterhouse.

David graduated with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics with a concentration in Business Management, Marketing and Accounting from Cornell University.
