US Regulatory Structure for Financial Institutions

Summary

SIFMA provides comments to U.S. Department of Treasury on the U.S. regulatory structure for financial institutions, TREAS-DO-2007-0018.  SIFMA believes that the U.S. regulatory regime for financial institutions is in need of both substantive and structural reform. SIFMA feels that both are contributors to unnecessary regulatory burdens that adversely affect the competitive status of the regulated entities, which, in turn, disadvantages investors and consumers.  SIFMA offers its experience, expertise and recommendations to initiate such reforms.
