FASB’s Invitation to Comment – Agenda Consultation
SIFMA provided comments to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on its Invitation to Comment - Agenda Consultation (the “ITC”).
SIFMA provides comments to Senators Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), who are members of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, on the Municipal Bond Market Support Act of 2008 (S.3518). SIFMA believes the legislation eases burdensome tax code requirements that severely limit investor demand for municipal bonds and increase financing costs for state and local governments. SIFMA supports the inclusion of provisions that extend the “two percent de minimis rule” to financial institutions; and increase the “bank qualified debt limit” from $10 million to $30 million and provides for annual inflation adjustments.
