SIFMA, The Clearing House Association L.L.C., The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR), and the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) provide comments to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee on The Patent Reform Act of 2011, S.23.  The Senate Judiciary Committee will consider the legislation in an upcoming full-committee mark-up.  While the groups agree upon the need for U.S. patent system modernization, the groups oppose the current legislation, because they believe it does nothing to address poor-quality business-method patents that are plaguing the financial services industry.
