SIFMA and ASF provides its first set of comments to the leadership of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee on the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act of 2007, H.R. 3915. The groups address continued concerns in certain areas of the legislation including: 1) federal preemption; 2) loans covered by the safe harbor; and 3) the statute of limitation for violations of the safe harbor requirements.
