The Securities Industry Association (SIA) provides comments to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on the consent based social security number verification process, the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) December 30, 2005 Federal Register Notice (Volume 70, Number 250).  SIA supports the development of a social security number verification process, noting that using the Social Security Number database would be much more reliable and effective.
