SIA and Other Associations Submit Comments to the US House Ways and Means Committee on Section 911 of the Internal Revenue Code

Summary

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)*, as part of the IRC Section 911 Coalition, submits comments to the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee on Section 911 of the Internal Revenue Code. In particular, the coalition voiced opposition the proposed curtailment of the IRS Section 911 housing cost allowance included in the Senate-passed JOBS bill (S.1637).  The coalition includes SIA, the Aerospace Industries Association of America, the American Bankers Association, the American Chemistry Council, the American Club of Lyon (France), the American Council of Engineering Companies, the American Insurance Association, the American Petroleum Institute, the Associated General Contractors of America, the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America, the Association of Americans Resident Overseas, the Bankers’ Association for Finance and Trade, the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, the Business Roundtable, the Coalition of Service Industries, Democrats Abroad, the Design Professionals Coalition, the Emergency Committee for American Trade, the Financial Executives International, the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas, the Hong-Kong U.S. Business Council, the Information Technology Association of America, the National Association for Manufacturers, the National Foreign Trade Council, the National U.S. Arab Chamber of Commerce, Republicans Abroad, the Software Finance and Tax Executives Council, The Financial Services Roundtable, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Council for International Business, and the U.S.-Korea Business Council.
