SIFMA provides comments to the U.S. Senate Majority and Minority Leaders supporting passage of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (H.R.3221). SIFMA particularly supports the tax-exempt bond provisions and adding the Federal Home Loan Banks to the list of government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) permitted to provide credit enhancement to municipal bonds.
