SIFMA provides comments to the U.S. Senate Majority and Minority leaders and the Chair and Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on the recently announced bipartisan tax extenders agreement. SIFMA particularly supports the extension of the active financing rules, and appreciates other provisions in the agreement including: the extension of the effective dates for the new basis reporting requirements; and the two-week extension of the filing deadline for 1099 statements. SIFMA urges the members of Senate to pass the bill in the near future.
