FASB’s Invitation to Comment – Agenda Consultation
SIFMA provided comments to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on its Invitation to Comment - Agenda Consultation (the “ITC”).
SIFMA and the American Securitization Forum (ASF) provide comments to the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary on the Emergency Home Ownership and Mortgage Equity Protection Act of 2007, H.R. 3609. The Committee is preparing to mark-up H.R. 3609 and send to the full House for consideration. The groups share their observations and recommendations relating to the version of H.R. 3609 that was approved by The House Judiciary Subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law. SIFMA and ASF believe that the legislation represents a fundamental change to mortgage finance that would undermine one of the pillars of securitization and the six and one-half trillion dollar secondary mortgage market.
