SIFMA and American Securitization Forum (ASF) provide comments to members of the Minnesota House of Representatives on the Minnesota Subprime Foreclosure Deferment Act of 2008 (H.F.3612). SIFMA and ASF believe that while well-intentioned as a means of helping distressed mortgage borrowers, this legislation would, if enacted, impose substantial costs and threaten the future availability of mortgage credit to all Minnesotans with those the legislation is intended to help being harmed the most.
