The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on NASDAQ’s proposal to become a for-profit exchange, File Nos. SR-NASDAQ-2006-006. SIA requests the SEC extends the period considering whether to approve NASDAQ’s proposal, to give SIA member firms the necessary additional time to consider carefully and comment to the SEC on the potential self-regulatory and competitive issues raised by the significant proposal.
