Capitol Hill Challenge Awards Reception 2013

Congratulations to the Top 10 Teams of the 2013 Capitol Hill Challenge

SIFMA and the SIFMA Foundation celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Stock Market Game™-“Capitol Hill Challenge” by bringing the Top 10 teams to Washington, D.C. in June 2013 to meet their Members of Congress, tour the nation’s Capitol, and see first-hand how our fiscal policies are created.

There are many reasons to celebrate this year’s Challenge.  Not only is it celebrating its 10th Anniversary, but this year also marks the 4th consecutive year of growth for the program with 506 Members of Congress being paired with middle/high school teams in their legislative district or state and 15,000 students participating in the Challenge.  Also, it had two teams celebrate victories for two and three years in a row!

Financial literacy is one of the keys to the future generation’s success.  Programs like the Capitol Hill Challenge enable our nation’s youth to learn more about the basics of saving, investing, and the global capital markets, while simultaneously promoting a better understanding of our government. The Top 10 teams have truly excelled in all aspects of the program. Congratulations again on a job well done!
