Marni R. Gibson

Marni Gibson has almost twenty-five years of experience in the financial services sector and its regulation. After spending time in the industry, she joined the Securities Division of the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions in 2009. While she focused much of her time on enforcement, Marni has held leadership positions in several areas and supervised all three divisions within the agency. Over the last fourteen years, Ms. Gibson has been named Securities Enforcement Manager, Depository Division Director, Securities Director/Administrator, and Deputy Commissioner. Currently, she is serving in the role of Acting Commissioner and Securities Administrator.

During her time with the agency, Ms. Gibson has served on numerous national committees, project groups, and working groups across the financial services spectrum. Marni has served as the Broker-Dealer Section Chair for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and began her third term on the NASAA Board of Directors in September. She also serves on NASAA’s board-level Finance and Audit Committee, FinTech Committee, and Steering Committee as Vice-Chair. Ms. Gibson was also recently appointed as NASAA’s representative on the Financial Banking Information Infrastructure Committee.
