Hugh C. Conroy, Jr.

Hugh C. Conroy Jr. is a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP’s New York office. He is distinguished as one of the leading financial services regulation lawyers by IFLR 1000: The Guide to the World’s Leading Law Firms, Legal 500 U.S. and Chambers USA.
Mr. Conroy’s practice focuses generally on bank and bank holding company regulatory issues. He currently devotes a significant portion of his practice to advice and advocacy regarding the Dodd-Frank Act, including rules related to capital, the Volcker Rule and the bank regulatory overlay on derivatives and securities transactions.
From 2004 to 2011, Mr. Conroy served as associate general counsel and managing director in Citigroup’s Bank Regulatory Office.

Mr. Conroy received a J.D. degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1996 and an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the College of William and Mary in 1992.
