Mike Burton

Michael G. Burton, Sr., (Senior Vice President & Assistant General Counsel, Ameriprise Financial, Inc.) leads the group providing principal legal support to Ameriprise’s Advice and Wealth Management and Retirement and Protection Solutions operating segment entities, including Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC a dual registrant distributing retail client products and services; American Enterprise Investment Services, Ameriprise Bank FSB, as well as RiverSource Life Insurance Company and RiverSource Life of New York.

Prior to joining Ameriprise, Mike was the Director of the Securities Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission, responsible for advising the Commission as to the formulation of policies related to the Arizona Securities and Investment Management Acts.  He received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctor degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is a member of the bars of Arizona, Illinois and Minnesota.
