Having studied law in the UK, Mark joined Credit Lyonnais SA’s London offices in 1995 as a graduate trainee in Compliance, aligned to their exchange traded derivatives and commodities brokerage businesses. After almost 4 years at Credit Lyonnais, Mark joined Lehman Brothers in London, where after initially covering their Equities platform he was soon aligned to their expanding European Fixed Income business. A successful career with Lehman Brothers included qualifying as a US Attorney (New York), promotion to Managing Director and appointment as EMEA Head of Compliance (CF10/11) and managing a team of 65 compliance professionals across Europe. Mark joined Renaissance Group in March 2010, initially responsible for the Global Compliance team and ultimately merging the global Legal and Compliance teams to create a Global Corporate Advisory group before returning to the UK. After a 12 month sabbatical Mark joined HBSC in September 2014, as Global Head of Regulatory Compliance, Global Markets in London and has spent the last three years building a second line Regulatory Compliance function, aligned to the global asset class and regional model of the firm’s Global Markets business.
