Lisa Hopkins

Ms. Hopkins is the current President of the North American Securities Administrators Association. Previously she served as chair of NASAA’s Corporation Finance Section and has served on NASAA’s Investment Adviser Section Committee as well as the Finance and Audit, Member Services, and Investment Adviser Continuing Education Committees. Ms. Hopkins joined the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office in 1999 and has served as both General Counsel and Senior Deputy Commissioner of Securities. On May 15, 2016, she was appointed by The Honorable Earl Ray Tomblin, Governor of the State of West Virginia as the first woman to serve as State Auditor. Prior to her service to the State of West Virginia, she worked in the private sector as an attorney.

Ms. Hopkins graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science in May 1989. She graduated from Boston University College of Law, Boston, Massachusetts, with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in May 1992 and was licensed to practice law in both West Virginia and Massachusetts in October 1992.
