Jared Goldberger is a partner and Office Practice Leader of Mayer Brown’s New York tax practice. He serves on the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council, where he is part of the Information Reporting Subgroup.

Jared advises US and non-US banks, trust companies, investment funds, and other financial institutions on US information reporting and withholding issues, including FATCA and the qualified intermediary (QI) regime. Clients turn to Jared for US tax and strategic advice on these and related issues involving disclosure to tax authorities and other governmental agencies. He also represents clients on matters involving tax investigations, potential tax evasion, and tax audits and controversies.

Jared regularly advises financial institutions, investment funds and corporate and fund borrowers on the tax aspects of cross-border and domestic financing transactions, including subscription-backed credit facilities, NAV facilities, hybrid credit facilities, bi-lateral loans and other acquisition financing arrangements. Jared also counsels clients on the tax aspects of debt and equity offerings, US and non-US financial instruments, and other capital markets transactions.
