Chris Maxwell is a Senior Fellow, Center for Leadership and Change Management, at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Management and Senior Associate Director in the McNulty Leadership Program. His past work at Wharton has included teaching in the undergraduate program and directing a wide variety of domestic and international leadership development programs (Wharton Leadership Ventures) in remote areas of North America, Mexico, Patagonia, Peru, Quebec, and Iceland. He currently serves as an instructor for the McNulty Leadership Program and Wharton Executive Education.
Chris holds two graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (Master of Governmental Administration and Master of Applied Positive Psychology) and earned a PhD in Public Administration from Penn State University, focusing on leadership and health policy. He is the author of Lead Like a Guide: How World-Class Mountain Guides Inspire Us to Be Better Leaders (Praeger, 2016), and has published widely in professional journals.
