Justin Rainey

Justin Rainey serves as chief information security officer and chief privacy officer at UMB Financial Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for establishing strategy and overseeing implementation of an integrated and proactive information security and privacy program. He is also responsible for advising and partnering with leadership and the board to guide the management of emerging and actual cybersecurity, business continuity and resilience, physical security, data privacy, third party, and information governance risks.

Justin earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Houston. He is a published author and speaker with more than two decades of experience in the information security and privacy fields and he holds the National Association of Corporate Directors Directorship Certification (NACD.DC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designations.

Justin also serves as Chair of the Investment Company Institute’s (ICI) Chief Information Security Officer Advisory Committee, on the Leadership Steering Committee for the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America (MBCA), and on the advisory boards and councils for the Summit Technology Academy, Canapi Ventures, Gartner Evanta, and SecureWorld.
