Jessica Escalera

Jessica Escalera is a veteran of the Legal Operations and Technology space. Last year she joined HSBC as Head of Legal Operations – Americas. In this role, she runs Legal Operations for the region and oversees Discovery, Data and AI operations globally. Jessica started her career in eDiscovery working for US law firms, Troutman Pepper and Ropes & Gray. She joined Barclays in 2014 to establish their eDiscovery team. During her time at Barclays, she significantly reduced eDiscovery spend through improved processes and use of technology, stood up the Legal Chief Data Office, led a multi-year transformation program, and served on firm wide committees regarding data, information governance, communications compliance and AI. This work culminated in a role as Head of Data, Technology and Practice Management, bringing together SMEs in process improvement, data, technology and legal operations to create efficiencies and manage external spend.
