Ilana Herscovitz Reid

Ilana Herscovitz Reid is Associate General Counsel with FINRA. In this capacity, she provides legal guidance on regulatory policy initiatives, rule changes and interpretations impacting the securities industry. Ms. Reid’s responsibilities involve a variety of regulatory areas, including investment research conflicts, gifts and non-cash compensation, new issue allocations and distributions, succession planning, the prohibition on borrowing from or lending to customers, and bulk transfers of accounts. Before joining FINRA, Ms. Reid worked as in-house litigation counsel for a broker-dealer. She has also served as a Deputy Attorney General for the California Department of Justice and worked as a commercial litigator for Reed Smith LLP. Ms. Reid graduated from University of California, Los Angeles, summa cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif.
