Alison Morpurgo

Alison is a Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel at UBS where she manages a team of lawyers covering Private Wealth Management, Advisory and Investment Solutions, the Chief Investment Office and Government Relations. Prior to that Alison managed Cross-Border Legal for fifteen years at UBS, most recently leading the Global Wealth Management and Asset Management Cross-Border Legal Team at UBS, managing a multi-jurisdictional legal team. Earlier Alison was Head of Legal for UBS International, Inc., managed the anti-money laundering department and served as the AML/BSA Officer for the Firm. She entered the financial services industry at Painewebber in 2000 and was in private practice prior to that.

Alison is a the Executive Sponsor of the Pro Bono Committee in Americas Legal. She values the opportunity to work on immigration cases, with Veterans and with students, among other work, and is certified in Mental Health First Aid at Work. Alison is on the Board of the City Bar Fund which supports the Pro Bono arm of the NYC Bar Association. She serves on the Board of 360 Academic Sports Academy, which supports students in underserved communities through tutoring and sports coaching. Alison has spoken at industry conferences including the FINRA Institute at Wharton, SIFMA Compliance & Legal Seminar and Financial Crimes, and others and has worked with the SEC to train foreign regulators.

Education and Personal
Alison earned a Bachelor of Arts from Connecticut College in 1993 and a J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law in 1999 where she was President of the Moot Court Board. Alison is mother to her high school student, college student and Yellow Lab. She lives in Manhattan where she is active in the community, including as former Chair of the School Leadership Team at West End Secondary, a public school on the Upper West Side, and as a volunteer for God’s Love We Deliver, serving nutritious meals to struggling New Yorkers, and One Block. Alison is fluent in Italian and loves exploring other cities and cultures, walking through New York, hiking, mythology and connecting with people.
