Michael Topiel

Michael Topiel is an Executive Director and Counsel at UBS.  Michael advises business management and other global functions on legal and practical matters concerning registered entities including futures commission merchants, swap dealers and broker-dealers, exchange-traded, cleared and OTC derivatives, cash equities, electronic trading and other areas.  In addition to advising on trading desk and contractual matters across a range of product sectors, Michael helps liaise with global regulators including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the National Futures Association and the Securities and Exchange Commission on diverse matters.  Michael is an Advisory Member of the Executive Committee of the FIA Law & Compliance Division.  Michael received a B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law.
