Carolyn Edgar

Carolyn Edgar is Senior Managing Counsel in the BNY Mellon Legal Department’s Commercial Law Group. Carolyn works on complex technology transactions and strategic alliances, including SaaS, cloud, software licensing, software development, application services, consulting services, and information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing agreements, as well as other general procurement agreements.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Carolyn was Vice President and Legal Counsel for The Estée Lauder Companies.  Before that, she was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.

Carolyn received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She received a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from City College of New York in May 2019.

Carolyn is a past board member of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association and a recipient of MBBA’s Corporate Counsel of the Year Award.
