Marni R. Gibson

Marni Rock Gibson has almost twenty-five years of experience in the financial services sector and its regulation. After spending time in the industry, she joined the Securities Division of the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions in 2009. While she focused much of her time on enforcement, Marni has held leadership positions in several areas and supervised all three divisions within the agency. She was appointed Commissioner in September 2023.

During her time with the agency, Ms. Gibson has served on numerous national committees and working groups across the financial services spectrum. In 2024, Marni was voted the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) President-Elect after serving three terms on the Board of Directors. She also serves on NASAA’s board-level Finance and Audit Committee and Steering Committee as Vice-Chair. In addition, Marni is a board member on the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission, Governor Beshear’s Team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Working Group, and Eastern Kentucky University’s Banking Program Advisory Committee.
