The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the U.S. Department of Treasury (Treasury) on Treasury’s enforcement proposals for abusive tax avoidance transactions and any impending revisions to the regulations under sections 6111 and 6112 of the Internal Revenue Code that are intended to apply to the securities industry.  SIA offers observations and recommendations as to how the proposals could be modified and/or clarified to assist in their administration.
