The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* in collaboration the Investment Company Institute, the American Council of Life Insurers and the Investment Adviser Associationprovidecommentsto the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) relating toDOLForms LM-30 and LM-10. Forms LM-30 and LM-10 were developed to comply with provisions of The Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), the reporting requirements will be made retroactively under a recent announced view of DOL. The Associations believe that the expansion of the scope of LMRDA reporting will impose an extraordinary burden on financial services providers to maintain detailed records ofordinary business activities. The Associations also note the reporting requirements for the Form LM-10 are being implemented without the appropriate notice and comment rulemaking.
