Ellen Greene is Managing Director, Equity and Options Market Structure at SIFMA. In this capacity, she is the staff advisor for both the Equity Markets & Trading Committee and the Listed Options Trading Committee. Ellen also leads SIFMA’s advocacy work on the Consolidated Audit Trail through SIFMA’s CAT Task Force. Previously, Ellen was a member of SIFMA’s Operations & Technology team.
Ellen joined SIFMA in August 2012 from Nasdaq, where she was a Vice President in Transaction Services. At Nasdaq, Ellen was the head of broker dealer sales, with responsibilities for its equity and options exchanges. Ellen was part of a small team responsible for the launches of two successful new exchanges, PSX (2010) and Nasdaq Options Market (2008). Prior to managing the sales team, Ellen worked as a Managing Director of Sales, working with large broker dealers, with a goal of driving market share and revenue growth.
Prior to joining NASDAQ, Ellen worked in Corporate Relations at the American Stock Exchange, where she advised issuers on Exchange rules and regulations, and acted as a liaison between the Exchange’s listed companies and the trading floor. Ellen began her career on the equity syndicate desk in the capital markets division at Merrill Lynch.
Ellen earned her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and her BA from Colby College.
