SIFMA Announces Andrew Guggenheim Will Join State Government Relations Team

Washington, D.C., November 21, 2022 – SIFMA today announced Andrew Guggenheim will join the association’s state government relations team as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel.

“I am excited to welcome Andrew to SIFMA’s team,” said SIFMA president and CEO Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. “He brings substantial financial services policy and state-level advocacy experience, and his skill set will be of great benefit to SIFMA’s members as we advocate for efficient and effective capital markets.”

Joseph Seidel, chief operating officer of SIFMA added, “Andrew’s significant policy, legal and advocacy experience will complement and enhance SIFMA’s state advocacy efforts to ensure carefully considered policy and regulations promote efficient market function.”

Prior to joining SIFMA, Andrew led the American Bankers Association (ABA) state legislation efforts, tracking and reporting on state legislation and uniform laws, and developing outward facing resources on state law and legislation. He also previously served as counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business, an attorney-advisor to the U.S. Election Assistance Committee, and as a senior advisor to the U.S. Small Business Administration. He began his career in the office of U.S. Senator George Allen (R- VA).

Andrew holds a B.S. in Communications and Political Science from Northeastern University and a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Andrew will report to Lisa Bleier, Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Federal Government Relations. He will be located in SIFMA’s Washington, D.C. office and starts today, November 21, 2022.
