TBMA Submits Comments to the SEC on a Request for Exemption from Section 12(a) for Certain Debt Securities

The Bond Market Association (TBMA)* provides comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)on a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) request for exemption from Section 12(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 for certain debt securities, File No. S7-06-05. While the TBMA supports the NYSE initiative, TBMA shares a variety of technical and policy concerns and questions with the SEC, recommending the SEC address the comments prior to the granting the exemption.

*SIFMA is the product of a merger between the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and The Bond Market Association (TBMA) in 2006.
