TBMA Submits Comments to the Financial Accounting Standards Board on Accounting for Certain Derivatives and Certain Hedging Activities

The Bond Market Association (TBMA)* provide comments to theFinancial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on athe Proposed Statement of Financial Accounting Standards, Accounting for Certain Derivative Instruments and Certain Hedging Activities, Reference No. 207-A. TBMA shares that members are disappointed that the draft fails to “grandfather” pre-1999 intercompany derivatives used as hedges. In addition, TBMA cautions that the short exposure comment period prevents the TBMA from methodically deliberating implementation issues that preparers might encounter in applying the provisions of the amendment.
