The Bond Market Association (TBMA)* and its Primary Dealers Committee provide comments to the Bureau of the Public Debt on proposed amendments tolarge position reporting rules in Treasury securities recently issued by the Treasury Department.TBMA supports the rule proposal because it enhances the ability of regulatory agencies to deter possible manipulation of the Treasury securities market. However, in order to ensure that the broader reporting obligations are not unduly burdensome for reporting entities, Treasury should modify the current reporting deadline.
