Reporting of Transactions in Asset-Backed Securities to TRACE

SIFMA provides comments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on requiring the reporting of transactions in asset-backed securities (ABS) to the Trade Reporting and Compliance Engine (TRACE), Release No. 34–61566; File No. SR–FINRA–2009–065 (Notice of Filing of Amendment No. 1 and Order Granting Accelerated Approval of a Proposed Rule Change, as Modified by Amendment No. 1 Thereto, To Require the Reporting of Transactions in Asset-Backed Securities to TRACE).  SIFMA is broadly supportive of the changes to the initial proposal described in Amendment No. 1, and provides its observations and recommendations on the proposal.
