Joint Advisory Committee Request for Comments on Price Swings Due to Liquidity Gaps

SIFMA provides comments to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the Joint CFTC-SEC Advisory Committee request for comments on preventing price swings in markets due to liquidity gaps, File No. 265-26. SIFMA believes the events of May 6, 2011, illuminated the critical need for the U.S. securities markets to utilize better and more advanced methods for limiting destabilizing price moves and preserving fair and orderly markets.  SIFMA offers a detailed description of its proposed solution to address the issue.

SIFMA provides comments to the SEC on June 22, 2011 on the self-regulatory organizations’ proposed limit-up limit-down plan.
