CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct, and Financial Planning Practice Standards

SIFMA provides comments to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) on the second exposure draft on the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct, and Financial Planning Practice Standards.  SIFMA believes that certain aspects of the draft conflict with longstanding law applicable to broker-dealers and their representatives, and could present substantial problems for firms and certified financial planners that offer multiple types of financial services.
