Interagency Proposed Rule for Model Privacy Form

The Privacy and Data Protection Subcommittee of SIFMA provides comments to on the Interagency Proposed Rule for Model Privacy Form (the Model Form) under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB Act) issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Release No. 34-59769; File No. S7-09-07. The proposal directly responds to Congress’s direction in the Financial Services Regulatory Relief Act of 2006 to “jointly develop a model form which may be used, at the option of the financial institution, for the provision of disclosures under section 503 of the GLB Act.
