Legislation Affecting the US Participation in the IMF’s New Borrowing Facility

SIFMA, the Financial Service Forum (FSF), and The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) provide comments to the U.S. Senate strongly opposing an amendment to the Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011 (S.679) offered by Senator Jim Demint.  The amendment would bar the U.S. from participating in the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF’s) New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB), and important new facility to resolve and prevent the spread of financial crises.
