SIFMA and its U.S. Covered Bond Council provide comments to the U.S. House Financial Services Committee strongly supporting the United States Covered Bond Act of 2011, H.R. 940. H.R. 940 will be considered by the full committee during a markup on June 22, 2011. The groups believe U.S. covered bonds are an untapped but proven source of capital that could expand the amount of capital for households.
