SIFMA, the Futures Industry Association (FIA), the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc (ISDA), and the Managed Fund Association (MFA) provide comments to the Members of the Conference Committee that is considering the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (H.R.2419). The legislation includes provisions that would reauthorize the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The organizations oppose amendments which would extend the CFTC jurisdiction to certain leveraged, margined or financed commodity (except FX) transactions with retail customers.
