Extension of the Proposed Volcker Rule Comment Period

Published on:

SIFMA, the American Bankers Association (ABA), the Financial Services Forum (FSF), The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR), and the Institute of International Bankers (IIB) provide comments to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC) requesting an extension of the deadline for comments on their proposed regulations under the Volcker Rule. The groups are deeply concerned about the potential impact of the Volcker Rule on capital formation, markets and liquidity for a range of asset classes and on the safety and soundness of banking entities and the businesses in which they engage, especially in light of current market conditions and the state of the US and EU economies.
