DOL’s Proposal to Redefine Fiduciary

SIFMA and other associations provide comments to the Chairman of the U.S. House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions as a follow-up to the subcommittee hearing on July 26, 2011 on the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL’s) proposed regulation to redefine the term “fiduciary.”  SIFMA Executive Vice President, Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., testified at the hearing.

The other associations include: American Bankers Association, American Council of Life Insurers, Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, Financial Services Institute, Investment Company Institute, National Association for Fixed Annuities, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, The Financial Services Roundtable, and The Insured Retirement Institute.
