The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides unsolicitedcomments to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on proposed Regulation FD. SIA agrees with the SEC that corporate officials should not selectively disclose material information to selected analysts or investors for nefarious motives. But, SIA believes Regulation FD misses the goal, and instead creates a serious threat of discouraging the flow of corporate information into the market.
