SIA Submits Comments to the US House of Representatives on the Investor and Capital Markets Fee Relief Act

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the U.S. House of Representatives urging the members to support the Investor and Capital Markets Fee Relief Act of 2001 (H.R. 1088). SIA strongly believes it is critical that Congress examine the issue of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) fees because the facts and assumptions on which enactment of the current statutory fee structure was based have changed. SIA notes it is vitally important that the House of Representatives act favorably on this legislation without adopting hostile amendments that could diminish the overall impact or the bill, or endanger its passage by both chambers.
