SIA Submits Comments to the US Department of Treasury Requesting Guidance on Mark-to-Market Rules

The Securities Industry Association (SIA)* provides comments to the U.S. Department of Treasury urging the issuance of guidance concerning the valuation of securities under the mark-to-market rule of Internal Revenue Code Section 475.SIA offers a draft regulation reflecting the proposed rules that they would accomplish the purposes of the original stature while minimizing taxpayer andInternal Revenue Service (IRS)administrative costs.
